SJ 2503 - Barns, Farmsteads & Fences
The Richard Howe House provides an example of an 1860s Welsh farmstead while the story associated with it connects with the early history of Emporia; near the small town of DeSoto, a group of citizens assist with the reconstruction of a barn struck by a tornado; and in the “Plains People” segment, Terry Gottschalk and his sons demonstrate how they construct a barbed wire fence.
